Carl Schroeder, Realtor and broker with Foundation Realty, was named recently 2014 Realtor of the Year by the Hilton Head Area Association of Realtors. Schroeder has remained active with the association since joining the 900-member organization in 1977. He served as board president in 1983 and on its Community Service Committee, Legislative Committee, Candidate Screening Committee and the Economic Development Summit Committee. He attended mediation training at the South Carolina Realtors and serves on the Grievance Committee. This is the third time he was awarded Realtor of the Year.
Each year, the local association honors one distinguished member who best exemplifies the Realtor image, is actively involved in civic or community affairs, promotes a positive image of the association and the real estate industry, demonstrates leadership and earns the respect of his peers, is honest and trustworthy, and abides by the code of professional ethics.
In the community, he serves as an instructor for new volunteer orientation and the disaster action team for the American Red Cross and is a member of the Eagle Scout Review Board for the Lowcountry District of the Boy Scouts of America.
