Required reading: Legendary Locals of Hilton Head Island

In preparation for our history issue, Heritage Library Foundation president Barbara Muller was kind enough to give Monthly a sneak peek at the upcoming book “Legendary Locals of Hilton Head Island.”

Produced for the Heritage Library Foundation, Muller’s book catalogues some of the famous (and infamous) names that dot the island’s rich history. Whether giants of the island’s antebellum plantation history (The Stoney family), the saints of its modern age (Jack McConnell), or the spirits of its legends (The Blue Lady), they’re all here.

As Monthly went to press, Legendary Locals of Hilton Head Island was still being finalized with the publisher. Check back in future issues for the full review when it prints.
