At Pana Roofing Co. on Hilton Head Island, it’s all about customer service.
“I love having an immediate connection to people by providing them with shelter,” said owner German Batista. “I get to be a part of protecting peoples’ biggest assets: their homes.”
First, he makes sure to connect with each of his customers before talking about their roofing needs.“Facts about shingles are facts about shingles,” said Batista, who has owned Pana Roofing for 14 years. “I want to talk about the important stuff.”
After Batista has built a relationship with his clients, then they talk about roofing. He wants to understand the needs of the customer, educate the customer on all of their options and then commit to deliver exactly what the customer has asked for.
Having done over 15,000 roofs since opening in 1996, and continuing to do an average of 1,000 roofs a year, Batista not only knows how to put on a roof, but also how to keep his customers happy.
With a variety of roofs available from metal to wood shake to asphalt s > hingles, Batista can accommodate bo th people’s personal style and roofing needs.
But it’s not only about the company. It’s also about the community.
“My vision is for Pana Roofing to remain an asset to the community for generations to come,” said Batista.
Pana Roofing is beginning to build that legacy with its first-ever “Ugliest Roof Contest.” The premise of the competition is that homeowners submit photos of their decaying roofs, then Pana Roofing and a board of VIP judges select the “best” ugly roof. The homeowner’s roof will be replaced by Christmas of this year. Batista hopes to hold the contest semi-annually.
Batista said he decided to hold the competition as his way of saying thank you to all of his previous, existing and future customers.
With a great reputation amongst past clients and an ambitious goal to still have a presence in Hilton Head “500 years from now,” Batista is on the top of his roofing game.
